Size: 59 to 64cm in head-body length, with a tail 37 to 43cm.

Characteristics: Coat looks smooth, tail is flattened. 

Habitat: It has often been recorded in saltwater near the coast, especially on smaller islands, but requires a nearby source of freshwater.

Behaviour: lives in groups

Size: 45~50cm

Habitat: Dipterocarp forest, submontane and lowland forest, mixed deciduous bamboo forest.

Behaviour: often chooses taller canopy trees at locations with higher elevation for making calls. This subspecies also utilizes topographically convex areas, like hill tops and ridges, as the chosen locations over more concave areas, as it makes the calling location even taller.

Diet: Fruits, leaves, flowers, and insects

Average number of young: one (every 3.5 years)

Average Life-expectancy in the wild: up to 30 years
